A complete Flange Insulation Kit consists of a primary dielectric central gasket, insulating sleeves for each bolt, two insulating washers per bolt, and two steel backing washers per bolt to distribute load.

Kit Configurations

  • Type E (Full Face): Designed for flat face flanges. The gasket extends out to the outer diameter of the flange, preventing debris accumulation and subsequent electrical bridging between flange faces.
  • Type F (Raised Face): Centralizes within the bolt circle for raised face flanges.
  • Type D (RTJ): Phenolic or G10 ring joint gaskets designed specifically to fit standard API and ASME RTJ grooves.

Material Upgrades

While standard Phenolic is suitable for low-pressure water and gas lines, we provide extremely high-strength G10 and G11 Glass Epoxy materials for high-pressure systems up to Class 2500, offering vastly superior compressive strength and chemical resistance.

Flexible Graphite / Graphoil Rings
High-Temperature Seals

Flexible Graphite / Graphoil Rings

Flexible Graphite (often referred to by the trade name Grafoil) is an extraordinary sealing material manufactured from pure, exfoliated graphite flakes. Through specialized compression, it forms a cohesive material that possesses zero volatile binders or resins, making it entirely immune to aging, embrittlement, or cold flow under extreme temperatures.

Key Applications

Our Die-Formed Graphite Rings are precision-compressed to exact densities, providing a flawless seal for high-pressure valves and pumps. They are the premier choice for hazardous fluid containment and strict EPA fugitive emission compliance.

Purity and Performance

We offer standard industrial grade (98% carbon) and premium nuclear grade (99.5%+ carbon) graphite. Because flexible graphite contains no binders, it will not bake out or harden over time, ensuring a reliable, long-lasting seal that reduces maintenance interventions.

Structural Reinforcements

For extreme pressure applications where extrusion is a concern, we manufacture graphite rings featuring internal stainless steel wire mesh or outer metallic caps (wiper rings), drastically increasing the mechanical strength of the packing set.

Compressed Non-Asbestos Fibre (CNAF) jointing is the industry’s answer to the phasing out of asbestos-based materials. By combining high-tensile aramid and synthetic fibers with specialized elastomer binders, we produce a sealing material that excels in general-purpose utility piping and mid-range chemical processing.

Manufacturing and Processing

Our CNAF materials are calendered under intense pressure, resulting in a dense, uniform sheet with excellent impermeability. We utilize advanced CNC oscillating knife cutters to convert these sheets into precision gaskets of any shape or size, eliminating tooling costs and enabling rapid prototyping.

Material Selection

The choice of binder (NBR, SBR, or EPDM) determines the gasket’s final chemical compatibility. Our engineering team can recommend the exact CNAF grade required whether you are sealing oils, fuels, water, steam, or mild chemical media.

They consist of a V-shaped metallic winding strip interspersed with a soft filler material (typically Graphite or PTFE). This unique construction provides a spring-like action that maintains a tight seal even under varying operating conditions.

Engineering & Construction

Our spiral wound gaskets are manufactured using precision winding technology, ensuring uniform filler density and optimal compression characteristics. The integration of an outer centering ring provides radial support, prevents over-compression, and accurately centers the gasket on the flange face. An optional inner ring is recommended for high-pressure applications or when the filler material is PTFE, to prevent radial buckling and minimize turbulence.

Performance Characteristics

Due to their robust design, spiral wound gaskets offer exceptional resistance to blowout and can accommodate significant flange rotation and thermal expansion. They are widely specified in critical applications across the oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation sectors.
